Office Policies

Appointments

All patients are seen on an appointment basis. We are respectful of the fact that you have set aside time in your day to bring your child to our office. Every effort is made to meet our time commitments, but occasionally, a child requires extra attention or an emergency may occur, causing a slight delay. Please be assured that your child will receive the same courteous and attentive care.

All appointments are scheduled with your child’s best interest in mind. Certain types of appointments are scheduled at specific times of the day. Based on years of experience, we schedule appointments for younger children in the morning as they tend to respond better earlier in the day.

Broken Appointment Policy Acknowledgment

When you schedule an appointment with Children’s Dental Associates, we set aside enough time to provide you with the highest quality care.  When you fail to show for an appointment or cancel last minute, it not only prevents us from providing your family with quality care but,it takes away an opportunity from another family who is desperately looking to schedule an appointment.

**A broken appointment constitutes an appointment you did not show up for or an appointment canceled with insufficient notice to the office.  Insufficient notice means canceling the day of the appointment.  Arriving for your appointment over 10 minutes late can also be considered a broken appointment as we may not have the time to provide the care needed and will need to reschedule.  Any extenuating circumstances will be considered on case-by-case basis.**

  1. A broken appointment charge of $25 will be added for each missed appointment time with a max of $50 per day, per family.
  2. Two or more missed appointments within a 6-month period may result in discharge from the practice.
  3. If you do need to reschedule, please try and provide at least 24 hours’ notice so that we may try and fill the appointment with another family.
  4. Any broken appointment fee MUST be paid prior to any new appointments.
  5. Failure to pay the broken appointment fee may result in discharge from the practice.

Parents in the Treatment Room

We invite you to stay with your child during the initial examination. During future appointments, we suggest you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience. Our purpose is to gain your child's confidence and overcome apprehension. However, if you choose, you are more than welcome to accompany your child to the treatment room as a silent partner. For the safety and privacy of all patients, we ask that only one parent accompany the child. We also ask that children who are not being treated remain in the reception room with a supervising adult. In rare circumstances, it may be preferable for parents to remain in the reception area. This may be done so that we can devote our full attention to your child and your child can devote his/her undivided attention to us.

Infection Control

The most current and effective infection control measures are used in our office. Instruments are heat and/or chemically sterilized after each use. Disposable products are utilized whenever possible. In addition, masks, gloves, protective eyewear and clothing are worn. Due to these measures, you can feel confident that you child’s health is protected.
